I’ve had the keratin blow-dry before, it has made my hair dry and brittle, and caused so much breakage. I don’t want straight hair I just want it to be manageable. I’ve had the keratin blow-dry on my hair before and it didn’t work!

Before my personal hair journey with the Nanokeratin, my hair was a brittle mess, but it wasn’t always that way. My hair started breaking after having a colour that just did not agree with my afro hair. There was also a period in my life where I suffered from a hormonal imbalance. Yes, this too affected my hair massively.
I was a sceptic too but, my hair was wrecked and out of control. So I thought to myself, I have nothing to lose and everything to gain – I was converted! I have been having a Nanokeratin blow dry for 8 years now and it’s been transformational. My hair would not grow past my collar bone, now everyone comments on how long, healthy and shiny my hair looks.
The Nanokeratin Refortify for Afro Hair has been designed to smoothen or straighten curly, textured and all afro hair types.
It rebuilds and constructs the hair’s inner and outer foundation, consequently making it stronger whilst improving and enhancing the structure and texture of the hair. Vital nutrients are injected into the hair shaft, to nourish and replenish the hair from roots to tips. As a result, the cuticles are sealed and the natural shine of the hair is intensified.
The Nanokeratin refortify is an innovative, safe and effective way to smoothen and straighten afro hair. Biomimetic technologies restructure the bonds, reforming the hair texture to tame and control frizzy unruly hair. With the flexibility to drop the curl pattern, smoothen or straighten the hair.
It contains 0% Formaldehyde, 0% Aldehyde and releases no chemical gases; which means it is gentle on the hair and scalp. The Nanokeratin System is formulated using ecological ingredients. Therefore, no harmful chemicals or ingredients are used that could damage the hair follicles or derma of the scalp.
Nanokeratin is also an excellent hair growth encourager; it contains active pulsating technologies to stimulate the scalp and enhance blood flow. So the hair can grow stronger and longer without compromising the integrity of the hair.
The Refortify smoother forms an outer protective layer by insulating the hair fibre. This protects the hair against damaging environmental pollutants, humidity, UV rays, salty water and heat appliances. A detoxifying shampoo is used to prime the hair and scalp in preparation for the treatment. This process will prepare the hair and scalp bringing it to its natural PH balance; removing excess sebum that may clog the follicles, any dead skin cells and fatty acids.
Once the hair is shampooed, rinsed and towel-dried, our Nanokeratin Specialist will determine whether to apply the Nanokeratin Refortify Smoother on damp, partially dried or fully dried hair.
The Nanokeratin System is a bespoke treatment; so, it’s not one-way suits all. Our Nanokeratin Specialists will examine your hair to decide the best method for your hair type.
If this is your first Nanokeratin, our hair care expert will apply the smoother from roots to ends for optimum results and to seal the keratin into the hair shaft. The Refortify smoother will then sit to work into the inner and outer layers of the hair, and left to process for 30 to 90 minutes.
The keratin is partially rinsed from the hair, towel-dried and blow-dried.
The keratin is sealed into the hair in thin sections using titanium irons. The straightening irons are passed through the hair 5 to 10 times until desired results are reached. We will use heat at a temperature of anything between 150°C to 230°C, depending on how smooth or straight you would like your hair.
Once the hair has been straightened, you can choose to wash the keratin out or leave it in the hair. If you leave it in until your next wash day, this should not exceed 7 days.
The Nanokeratin Pure System gives you your desired results the same day. So, you can wash your hair immediately after the keratin has been sealed into the hair. Nanokeratin is a system, therefore, it is essential to use the aftercare products at home for the longevity of the treatment. This will keep the hair in optimum condition and promote healthy hair. For a little extra hair love, the reinvent insulator is a leave-in conditioner and heat protectant which speeds up drying time and protects the hair fibre.
