The Importance of Consultations: Setting the Stage for Your Perfect Hair

A consultation is the most important part of your hair care journey. Whether you’re after a subtle change or a complete transformation. A consultation is key in ensuring we understand your goals and expectations before your appointment begins.

Building a Collaborative Relationship

When you visit Cognito Hair, you’re not just getting a haircut or colour treatment. You’re beginning a collaboration between you and your stylist. Your hairstylist is there to help you achieve your hair goals while also maintaining the health and integrity of your hair. Whether you have a clear vision or need a little guidance, it’s a partnership where trust is built. The consultation is where we align our expertise with your vision, making sure that we’re on the same page from the start.

Your hair is an essential part of your identity. The way it looks can have a huge impact on how you feel. Getting your hair done is not just a luxury, it’s a necessity. It’s something that makes you feel confident and empowered, and that’s why it’s so important that the consultation is thorough. We want to give you the results you’ve always dreamed of, but it starts with a conversation.

Why Consultations Matter

Consultations are essential for setting realistic expectations and ensuring that you receive the best possible service. Here’s why:

  1. Managing Expectations: We’re committed to helping you achieve the look you want, but it’s important to understand what’s realistic based on your current hair type, texture, and condition. What you see in a magazine or online might not always be possible today. A good consultation will help you set realistic goals.
  2. Personalised Service: During your consultation, we’ll take the time to learn about your hair care routine, lifestyle, and how you currently care for your hair. This helps us tailor our advice and treatments to suit your specific needs. We’ll also discuss what may be affecting your hair, positive or negative, and how we can work together to improve it.
  3. Clarifying Your Desired Outcome: Sometimes, clients are unsure about what they want or how to articulate their hair goals. Don’t worry! We’ll ask the right questions and help you clarify your desired outcome. Bringing visuals is always a great way to ensure we’re on the same page. Especially when it comes to colour and style preferences. However, be mindful to choose images that reflect your hair type, texture, and current length for the most realistic results.

Hair Care Consultation: Getting the Best Results for You

If you’re struggling with your hair care routine or your products don’t seem to be working, a hair care consultation could be the perfect solution. This 30 minute session allows us to review your current regimen and provide personalised advice.

We’ll cover key topics like:

  • The products you’re using and why they might or might not be effective
  • How frequently you wash your hair
  • The tools you use (e.g. brushes, combs, and electrical styling tools)
  • Your budget and how often you visit the salon
  • Your hair priorities and any specific goals you want to achieve

Sometimes, all it takes is the right guidance and support to get your hair care routine back on track. We’re here to be your biggest cheerleaders, providing you with the knowledge and advice you need to achieve healthy, beautiful hair.

A hair care consultation is priced at £30 for 30 minutes, and the cost is deductible from your next service or product purchase.

Hair Colour Consultation: Tailored for You

Hair colour is always a bespoke service, and it requires a detailed consultation to get it just right. Whether you’re looking for a creative colour, grey coverage, or foil highlights, every head of hair is different, and your colour should complement your hair type, skin tone, lifestyle, and budget.

A consultation helps us understand your desired colour and provides a realistic timeline for achieving it. During the session, you’ll need to bring visuals, no more than three images showing your ideal tone and colour placement. Choosing images that match your hair texture and length is key. For example, if you love a balayage look but have straight hair, choose images of balayage on straight hair to ensure we can achieve a similar result.

Hair colour consultations are priced at £50 for 30 minutes, which will be deducted from your colouring service. Remember, skin tests are required 48 hours before a hair colouring service to ensure your safety.

Nanokeratin Consultation: A Bespoke Experience

The Nanokeratin System is a bespoke smoothing and straightening treatment. Whether you want to control frizz, elongate curls, or achieve a completely straight look, a consultation is crucial to understanding your goals.

During your Nanokeratin consultation, we’ll discuss your hair type, whether you have coloured or chemically treated hair, and any concerns like hormonal changes affecting your hair texture. We’ll also talk about the benefits of the treatment, which could include faster blow-drying time, reduced heat styling, and protection from environmental stressors.

If you wish, you can book a paid consultation for £50, which will be deducted from your Nanokeratin appointment.

Consultations are a critical part of your hair journey. They allow us to understand your needs, set realistic expectations, and provide a service tailored specifically for you. Whether it’s your first time at the salon or you’re a regular, consultations ensure that you and your stylist are always on the same page.

We believe in building lasting relationships with our clients to help them achieve their hair goals. So, whether it’s for colour, care, or styling, let’s start your hair journey with a thorough and detailed consultation.

Until next time, if you’re ready to get started on your hair journey, book your consultation at our hairdressers in Wandsworth today!
