Our stylists specialise in colour, precision cutting and the pioneering nanokeratin smoothing and straightening system. We work with all Afro, European and Asian hair types and have the technical ability to create the look you desire.

Stylists

We currently have two hair stylists based in our Earlsfield salon.

Shareefa Jennings

Shareefa is our Style Director with more than 25 years of hairdressing experience, from training at Vidal Sassoon in St Paul’s and Bayswater Academy to founding Cognito Hair. Her specialisms are Afro and European hair, cutting, colouring and the Nanokeratin Smoothing System. Her passion for education and continued professional development enables her to give highly informative services.

Anu Ikutiyinu

Anu, our skilled Graduate Stylist, has held a Level 3 qualification in hairdressing from Hammersmith College since June 2023. With nearly 5 years of experience, she has honed her skills in various areas. Her expertise in the Nanokeratin system, and applying treatments, tints, and toners is a testament to her commitment to excellence.

First time at Cognito. My hair “issues” were listened to and the result was a great cut that forms part of a work in progress. Have washed and styled it myself since the appointment, and happy with the results. I had made an appt for Afro/naturally curly hair online and as my cut took less time I was charged at a lower rate - the salon made this adjustment, I wouldn’t have noticed or questioned it. That kind of integrity is rare in a business these days. The salon is spotlessly clean, the chairs are comfortable, and my stylist, Anu, was friendly and skilled. I will be back.

This was my second time getting my haircut at Cognito and with Anu, and it was just as lovely as the first time. I wanted to get a refresh with some fringe bangs. Anu took her time explaining how we could make that happen as well as advising on how to connect the unconnected layers in my hair (disconnection caused by my own attempt to cut my hair lol). By the time I left the chair my hair looked so full, well-shaped and healthy!
